Due to the great success of the “First International Conference on Nutraceuticals and Chronic Diseases” (INCD-2016) in Cochin, Kerala, India (September 09-11, 2016), “Second International Conference on Nutraceuticals and Chronic Diseases” (INCD-2017) in Goa, India (September 01-03, 2017) and Third International Conference on Nutraceuticals and Chronic Diseases” (INCD-2018) in Rishikesh, India (September 14-16, 2018) we are now pleased to announce our Fourth International Conference on Nutraceuticals and Chronic Diseases (INCD-2019) in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, Assam, India.
Extensive research over last two decades has revealed that most chronic diseases are caused by the dysregulation of multiple genes and cell signaling pathways. However, most of the drugs designed by man (pharmaceutical companies) are limited as they are mono-targeted. Because most chronic diseases are multi-genic, such drugs are not likely to be very effective and exhibit side effects when consumed over long periods. In contrast, most drugs designed by “Mother Nature” have long track record, are multi-targeted, highly effective over long-term and exhibit minimal side effects. Thus it is not too surprising that until very recently, almost 80% of all drugs had their roots in natural products. Because of their nutritional value, they are also referred to as “Nutraceuticals”. The history of these nutraceuticals goes back to thousands of years as indicated by “Ayurveda” (science of long life), “Unani”, “Siddha”, “Homeopathy”, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and other ancient treatments.
The current conference is designed to explore the scientific basis for the “Role of nutraceuticals in chronic diseases”. Nutraceuticals derived from spices, dietary agents, and medicinal plants will be included. Chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, cancer, mental disorders, arthritis, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and infectious diseases will be covered. Topic such as epigenetics, biofilms, microbiome, and omics; and their changes by nutraceuticals will also be covered. Scientists who are devoted to these topics will be invited from around the world.
This meeting is going to be a global event with opportunities for networking and sharing of ideas with colleagues from various countries in the world. The delegates include scientists and students who are nutritionists, allopathic, ayurvedic, homeopathic, unani, siddha and traditional medicine practitioners, from all over the world.
Furthermore, national and international delegates will have an exciting indulgence to the rich culture, traditions and geographical beauty of North East Region of India.
On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our great honor to invite you to participate in the 4th International Conference on Nutraceuticals and Chronic Diseases to explore and promote research on Nutraceuticals in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.
